Need help with server cutting off clients

Last week I upgraded the users at my office from 2k to
XP. I first upgraded 2 users and within 2 days I had a
problem with them being dropped from the XP file server
(LaCie network attached storage server with embedded XP).
Thinking this was random, I setup everyone else. Now I'm
having problems with everyone losing connection to the
server almost on a daily basis. It requires me to reboot
the server. The users will suddenly not be able to see
the server (and everyone's computer locks up for 2
minutes or so), but I can access the server via remote
desktop...not http or Network Neighborhood.

Anyone have any thoughts where to start? On Friday I had
this happen 4 times during the day.

Thanks,
Tom

What shows up in the event log on the server and on the clients? How is the
network configured? Active Directory? Peer-to peer? Is Netbios enabled?
How does the server share the files? What is the security policy on the
server? Any customizations on the clients? Can you sometimes access the
server via HTTP and Network Neighborhood? What does the server manufacturer
suggest?
