I have XP workstations connecting to a Server running Server 2003 sp2. They
all seem to lose the network connection to the server between 4 and 5pm every
day. I've checked for any software running on the PCs and the server around
that time and don't see anything.

Make sure the workstations' ethernet cards are not set to power off. Do this
from Device Manager (Network Adapters>your ethernet card>Properties>Power
Management - "do not allow Windows to turn off this device...").

Check other power settings on the workstations.

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the power settings. Also checked for
any process that may be running on the server or the workstations at that
time. Nothing is running that would cause this.

Every workstation disconnects at the same time. I also checked the any
login restrictions on the server.

Well, you've got something running that is causing this. Unfortunately, only
you - or someone looking at the server and workstations - can find out
what. Scheduled tasks, scripts, possibly even something set on your router,
etc.?

You might also try posting in one of the server newsgroups:

microsoft.public.windows.server.general
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

Sorry that I was unable to help you.
