Unable to ping an XP workstationconnected to workgroup

Peter

We are still running Novell as NOS and all workstations belong to the same
Windows workgroup.

One of the XP workstations that connected to the network is able to access
all network drives (In Novell) and connect to proxy server for Internet
access. From that workstation, there is no problem for pinging Windows
Servers and other workstations. Besides, we find that the WINS Server
(Running on a Windows 2003 Server) does register that machine successfully
(Try to assign a static IP address and it does register it properly).

However, when we attempt to ping that workstation form other machines, we
get "Request Time Out" message.

Is there any suggestion on how to handle this issue ?

Thanks

Dear Richard,

Thank you for your advice and I checked & confirmed that there is no
firewall installed on that workstation.

Regards,
Peter

Are you sure there is no firewall on that computer blocking pings?
