Need help with saving file in Word without readable only prompt...

Vito M.

I am a fairly new user to the 2007 version of Microsoft Word and...
I was able to save a document to my cd without any problems when all of a
sudden when I attempted to save the file as usual I got a prompt that said I
could not save the file (at least with the same name) because it seemed to
have change to a readable only format! When I then right clicked the file and
selected propeties I was unable to uncheck the readable only checkbox without
getting an error message The program would not even allow me to change the
file type! .The original file did not even have the readable only box
checked! I am very confused about this and need help and would like to
continue saving the same file with the same name to the cd drive without
worrying about this prompt that I do not fully understand. Can anyone help?

CD is a write once medium. It can only be used as a 'big floppy' with the
addition of some rather flaky third party software that is best avoided.
Never ever save directly to CD. Always save to the hard drive and copy to
the CD using your CD mastering software.
