Just got a new Dell Inspiron 1505, with Windows XP Home Edition. and
every time I download pictures to "My Picture Folder", they also
go into the "desktop" section in " Display Properties," which is in
the "Display" icon in the Control Panel. I am told by some Dell
technicians that this is how Windows XP is now?. My old computer had
the same program and this never happened. If there is someone out
there who has had the same problem and knows what to do, I would love
to hear from them.

Thanks\

If I didn't explain myself too clearly- Click on Control Panel,
click on Display Icon, when Display properties come up, click on
Desktop. I just don't want all my pictures going to both places.

If you have ever, at any time, used the BROWSE button in the desktop section of the Display dialog
box to look in "My Pictures" for a wallpaper, then Windows will always display all of the files in
MY PICTURES as wallpaper options. I think it stinks, that MS has hard programmed it that way, but
that is the way it works. If you make a new folder in My Documents, call it say "Pictures" and move
all of your photos into the new "Pictures" folder, you will no longer see them in the wallpaper
options. But you cannot make the new folder the default for saving pictures.

If you do not want the pictures from "My Pictures" folder to be listed in
the Display Properties then move your pictures to another folder. Windows XP
will use "My Pictures" folder to list pictures in the Display Properties
background images.

The following Web Page will show you where Windows XP is retrieving the
background images for Display Properties.
