You are not alone! I have a client running Windows XP Pro
on a Fujitsu Laptop with the same problem. The taskbar
appears to work normally in that you can right click on
it and add or remove toolbars, hide the taskbar, move it
around the screen etc. but open applications do NOT show
up. The only way to access different applications is the
old standby of pressing [Alt]+[Tab].

We have had this problem occur a couple of times even
after going back to a time before this problem using
System Restore. (The issue is resolved then comes back
again.) This issue seems to be restricted to the one
user's profile (logging on as admin gives you a working
taksbar).

The system has had Norton Antivirus on it since it was
first brought up and is updated daily. No virii were
detected with the latest scan (Monday).

Any and all suggestions are welcome, especially form
Microsoft!

Thanks.
