need help with microsoft update

i go to the update page that scans your system to see what
you need for updates and Immediatly it says 100% and then
gives me an error and a #. Ill have to go home and try
again then add it to a response on here! I have XP PRO
and I recently had a serious problem and i think i need to
re install that windows update thing, but not sure how!
I go home in 2 hours and will post all info to this topic
when I get there!

Have a look in the Windows Update.log file - which can be found in the Windows folder - for any error numbers - towards the end of the file. If any are found see if they are referenced here:
