need help with messenger service

I have winxp sp2. Recently I neded software to comunicate between two
computers and found LANtalk. It works with net send protocol. I found out
that my friend get my messages but i dont get his. Then i saw that my
messenger service is disabled(due to sp2) amd i tried to enable i, but with
no sucess. I have all dependencie running and doing it on admin account. It
says : "The Messenger service could not be started. A service specific
error occurred: 2280.". Does anybody knows what to do? I tryed searching
the Net but with no success. Please help.

Make sure that the startup type is automatic.

Check appropriate newsgroup:

It is set to automatic, and i get error when i click start.
