I need some help. I have a dsl router/switch. I brought it to the office to
connect 2 PCs. At the office, small office, we have a DSL router already
using the LAN IP 192.168.1.1. By default my linksys router uses the same lan
IP. I have notice that it conflicts with the office router. I thought that
this was supposed to be a plug and work switch. But I guess not. I tried to
get some documentation about the way it should be setup but the only
information I have come accross is how to configure the device as a router
but not as a switch. Have anyone come accross something like this before? Any
help woudl be greatly appreciated.

If you want a switch get a switch, if you want a router get a router.

The router will be attempting to make and control the connection to the
internet and give access to PCs. That's it's job.

Alternately, buy a cheap [$10-$10] hub to connect 2 PCs, or just use a
crossover ethernet cable between them if neither is connected to the other
LAN.

Hi.
You can use it as a simple switch providing you configure and connect it for
this purpose.

Read this page it's written for Wireless but the principle is the same for
any Entry Level Router.
