I unsuccessfully tried to set up a WRT54G Linksys router today for a new DSl
customer. The router and network would work briefly, then Internet access or
network access, or both would just disappear. I know there were issues with
the DSL, which just plain stopped for a while, but that issue was resolved
with a call to Verizon. I suspect there is a software problem with the
router, which uses a Linksys setup feature I've never seen before.
Is there any basic diference betwen DSL and Cable in this situation?
More specifically, if a router is set up and working properly with a cable
connection, would the same settings work if the router was then transferred
to an identical DSL network?
