Need Help with Internet Explorer

Every time I try to open Internet Explorer a runtime error pops up and says:

C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

How can I remedy this? Am I writing to the write people or do I contact
someone else?
Thank you very much.

The first thing to do is ensure the computer is 100% virus/malware-free.
Here are steps to go through systematically:

After you are sure the computer is clean, if you are still having
problems post back. It can be very hard for a non-technical person to
know what to include in a post to a tech support newsgroup. Here is a
link that will help you with that - http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

Here's how I've solved the same problem a couple of times: go to
Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs and un-install the Google
Toolbar.

If the Google Toolbar isn't there, look for other toolbars. You can
see installed toolbars in Internet Explorer by clicking View |
Toolbars.
