Need HELP with filtering JUNK MAIL

C

Chuck Jurgens

I just can't seem to get the OL2K junk mail filters to work!

I have turned on the junk mail and adult content switches and directed
the emails to go to a "Junk Mail" folder.

I copied the updated rules to the "filters.txt" file.

I added a bunch of addresses to the Exception List.

BUT I'M STILL GETTING JUNK MAIL that has the words and phrases listed
in the "filters.txt" file. This is the first time I have tried to set
up filters and I just don't seem to be able to figure out what I am
doing wrong. The instructions aren't very helpful.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA

You might look at http://www.slipstick.com/rules/junkmail.htm and see if the
tips listed there are helpful at all. If you're still not happy with the
results, you should consider buying a 3rd party program such as MailWasher
or IHateSpam to take care of the junk mail for you. Outlook 2000's filters
just weren't designed to handle all the spam we get nowadays.
