Need help with a log off/log on problem...can log of then log on dif.
user and system will be slow loading user settings, then play start up
music, then show wallpaper, then freeze.


I have a new system, P4 3.2 gig, Asus MB, PCI Express Nvidea video
card 1 gig DDR2 ram etc. I can log in to a user (there are 4 dif.
users) Then when I log off to switch users (instead of using "switch
user") it will have slow time loading user settings and then it will
play the music for the start up, then it will show the wallpaper, then
it will freeze. I can make the num lock go on and off. I can not do a
ctl+alt+del. I can not do anything else except press the off button.
This happens 2 out of every 3 times I log off/ log on.

try disabling the startup items from the msconfig utility it seems some of
the startup items are causing the problem.
