NOTE: Running the Detect and Repair feature within Office causes Mdm.exe to
be re-registered on the system.

First...

Open Internet Explorer | Tools | Internet Options | Advanced tab |
CHECK: Disable script debugging | UNCheck: Display a notification
about every script error | Click Apply | Click OK

Disable script debugging
[Specifies whether you want to turn off your script debugger, if one is
installed. Script debuggers are used by Web site developers to test programs
and scripts on their Web pages.]

Display a notification about every script error
[Specifies whether to display the actual script errors when a page does not
appear properly due to problems with its scripting. This feature is off by
default, but is useful to developers when testing Web pages.]

mdm.exe can also be a trojan.

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Do the same for whatever anti-spyware applications that you have.

Mdm.exe is also part of *many* other Microsoft software packages.
http://support.microsoft.com/dllhelp/?dlltype=file&l=55&alpha=Mdm.exe&S=1&x=0&y=0

Microsoft Visual Basic .NET 2003 Standard Edition, Microsoft Visual C# .NET
2003 Standard Edition, Microsoft Visual C++ .NET 2003 Standard Edition,
Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, for example, all show mdm.exe as being in
Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug. There are more.
