need help please

i would very appreciate if anyone reply me on my email.
i am having problem in booting from CD and installing
windows xp pro, as i had got error msg in blue screen '
Stop 0x00000024 ntfs.sys windows is shutting down to
prevent damageto your computer'.
i had win 98 (SE) and XP. i formatted all harddrive, tried
alot from XP bootable CD and from recovery console but no
result. that pc is in my office, can i resolve problem by
XP startup disk (floppy)??
i also tried alot to install XP from CD but at 17% on
driver.cab it gives again error, unable to copy specified
files.
last question is , when i try to install Win 98 SE from
bootable CD it gives error ' the drive is compressed or
computer has installed cache-utillity software, remove it
and try again.

please help me out!

One possible cause of this Stop 0x00000024 ntfs.sys is disk corruption. Corruption in the NTFS file system or bad blocks (sectors) on the
hard disk can cause this error. Corrupted SCSI and IDE drivers can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, thus
causing the error.

Boot off the XP CD into the Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r

Run Chkdsk /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption.
