After I have restarted my computer, the windows XP screen that says:"To
begin click your user name". But there are no user names to click on. So I
clicked con+alt+del and it brought up a user name and password box, but the
password I thought I used isnt the one. So I cant get windows to start....
What do I need to do????????

type in administrator with password left blank. press enter!

repair your user account. logoff and back in under you regular user account.

I typed that in and pressed enter and I got a: Logon Message: The system
could not log you on make sure your user name and domain are correct then
type your password again letters in the password must be typed using the
correct case... ????

is this a stand alone pc?

did you use proper case when entering login name?
Administrator

So it initially( after c+a+d) brought up your user account?

Have you tried F8 Safe Mode login?

Yes it is a stand alone PC

2. Yes I used proper case

3. Yes
4.No, what is F8 safe mode login???

intermittently press f8 during boot up. might take you a couple tries.
safe mode menu should appear.
select "Safe Mode".
try to login as yourself or Administrator or any other admin account that
appears.

what user names appeared if any?

did you click on Administrator if present?
if no password was required, it should've gone strait into windows.
ie not prompted for a password

Go to http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ and download the boot
disk, this will enable you to reset any system password on an NT class
operating system

Don't exactly know what happened but I hope you didn't change the
default Administrator account's password, which was blank. Try logging
into that account and hopefully, you can reset your password that way.
If you are using XP Home, I believe you have to boot into Safe Mode
first, and then you can be able to log into the default Administrator
account. Good luck.
