Need help for activation of my copy of Windows

Dear forum members:


I recently had to replace my motherbard along with a processor, the
motherboard is from ASrock and the processor is a AMD Atlon XP +2600. The OS
is Windows Service Pack 2, and the computer requested to activate the copy
and when I try to do that the activation screen dialog gives a blank screen
and I can't get on my computer. When I close the activation window the system
logs me off and I can't use the computer. Could somebody help me with that

You changed the hardware, have you done a repair install of win*?

Good evening DL:

I've tried to do that but the cd doesn't want to run on my dvd-rom, I've
tried with another copy but no avail. I've checked with an autoplay fix that
is in the KB but the fix doesn't find any difficulty; the dvd-rom does play
other cd's. Maybe you can tell me about any article in the KB that I haven't
seen, really realyy I'm tired of searching.

You may have to amend bios settings boot order to enable the pc to boot from
cd.
The xp cd contains the default cd drivers to enable it to boot

Yes, I did that DL but now DL, I can enter in safe mode
Can I do a repair install in safe mode?

The dvd-rom was configured to boot first but it seems that the dvd doesn't
see the CD. Any suggestions?
