Exceeded Activation Windows XP

O

Oasis

Due to the system crashes I have reinstalled and did activation number of
times. Today after I install QuickCam Pro 4000 software my computer had
crashed many times. I was unable to use "safe mode" and within a seconds of
reboot my computer shut down automatically so I reinstalled the OS again.
When I tried to do activation then I got the message :

"Activate Windows

Product Key

According to our records, the number of times you can activate windows with
this product key has, and been exceeded. Please enter a different product
key and then Click Retry. The 25-digit product key documentation. It should
be similar to the following example.....If you believe you have received
this message in error, please contact a Customer Service Representative or
visit Microsoft Activation Assistance Web Site for information on how to get
additional product keys. ....."

I never ever know this problem and there is no information of exceeded
activation of this product on the documents came along with my computer.

So please kindly let me know how to solve this problem by myself before I
contact the dealer. I have bought this computer from "Zitech" Denamark. It
will take many days to get help from this shop so I am looking for your
help.

Sincerely,

Oasis

All this really means is that you need to activate by phone. You should
find an option button to do this and you should then be provided with the
correct phone number. Normally phone activation is very fast, no more than
five minutes in my experience. It's really pretty painless.

Did you do a clean install, or a repair install? Did you start with wiping
the drive or...?

Thank you for the advice. I did format and clean install.

Yes, that will mean that XP has to re-activate, and it can only do so online
a few times within a time period that is several months long.

Again, the inability to activate online does *not* mean that you can't
activate, just that MS wants to hear that it's actually being used in
compliance with the license.

Phone activation is quick and easy. It's just a lot of numbers to type!
