Need greeting card software for Vista

Guest

I own four different greeting card software programs. Of course, none can be
used with my new Windows Vista. Has anyone used a current greeting card
software program on Vista SUCCESSFULLY??? I hate to waste my money and buy
one that doesn't work well with the new MS god...Vista!

Which greeting card software(s)do you have and which one(s)are/have you
tried to use with Vista?

I have the 2006 version of (Creative Home) Hallmark Card Studio, and
understand the 2005 version works also. This is on a VISTA Home Premium
64-bit box. Loaded easily and registered itself. Seems to work OK. Good
luck!

Dont use computers for greeting cards. Send them via regular mail.

Duh, and double duh!!!

Ever occur to you that someone would want to CREATE greeting cards on their
computer using their own graphics and pictures, etc., and then mailing them!

DUH!

I''m a newbie so don't understand where I would find the "exe". Also, I
don't have XP installed as I bought a new computer with Vista Home Premium
installed on it.

Mind telling us which four different greeting card software programs you
speak of that cannot be used with Windows Vista?
Thanks.

Insert the disc, cancel the automatic set up, go to the disc & find
setup.exe, right click it & select properties, select the compatibility tab,
check the box marked "run this program in compatibility mode for:" windows
XP sp2. and as administrator, nothing else click ok then run the setup.

To Frank: In all fairness, the greeting card programs I own are older
versions (PrintMaster Platinum16, Create-a-Card 8.0, Print Shop20, Print
Artist). I have been successful with the Hallmark 2007 version on Vista.

Thanks.
I'm running Print Shop20 & Hallmark 2007 on Vista Ultimate with no
problems.
Try running the others in compatibility mode.

Hi Frank, You suggested that I try running the other greeting card software
programs in "compatibility mode". Now you're forcing me to show my true
ignorance! I don't know what that is. Is it something that can be explained
easily to me? If not, I'll have to do some researching for the answer.
Thanks for all your help!

It's really easy to do. Just insert the CD/DVD into your computer. Don't
click on anything that first comes up, like auto run. Open up the
CD/DVD and find the .exe file. Right click on it and at the bottom of
the menu you'll see properties. Click on it and at the top of the next
menu you'll see compatibility. Click on it and put a check mark in the
box next to...run in compatibility mode and you want that mode to
be...Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
Also put a check mark in the bottom where it says...Privilege
Level...run this program as an administrator.
Then click on the .exe file to install!
Good luck.

I have been having problems installing all of Broderbund software. For the last 4 months since I bought a new computer with vista. I kept sending the computer back and now I am on my 5th computer. I installed the programs and they worked fine . It was not until I installed the printer , that's when the programs went corruped. I even bought a new printer for 750.00 and still have the problem. I contacted Broderbund and can't get anywhere with them. They offer no help just want your money. I now tried to install using your method and still the same. Unless I did it wrong. I don't know what to do next. I enjoyed all these programs. Printmaster Plat.17-Printshop deluxe 21, American greetings, Premier 1 and 2,Calendar program, clickart programs. I never had a problem with XP os.I hope this soon gets resolved as these companies should of got together before Vista came out. If you can offer any other solution, Please let me know.

I'm running some Broderbund programs on Vista with no problems. You said
the problem begins when you install the printer(s). Have you contacted
the printer manufacturer about the fact that their drivers are
corrupting other software? You're running the latest Vista printer
drivers of course, right?
