Recommend Sound Card for Vista

I updated my IBM Think center that has an onboard ADI sound driver
5.12.01.5410. After loading Vista I found that Lenovo does not support or has
an ADI Driver for this chipset. I have not been able to find a Vista driver
for Vista. For the past two weeks I have been trying to find a Sound card
that will support Vista and all of the functions on the card work with Vista.
I want to use it for only Music and Movies. I am not a gamer. I have looked
at Sound blaster, and everyone of of their VISTA drives says that not all
functions may work after installing the Vista Dirver. I have also looked at
Diamond Xtreme cards and saw complaints about their cards when using Vista.
Does anyone have any recommendation for a Sound card for Vista? I would like
to stay under $100 if I can. Vista has been out for over a year now you would
think their would be more sound cards supported by Vista on the market.

Have a look at a Cobra Sound Card from AOpen.
I bought one 12 months ago for $25.
It works on Home Premium SP1
It works with Media player; all I want!

For myself, I almost never use internal sound cards because I rely on the
ability to do quality recordings. I also tend to not use PC speaker sets.

I use external, usually USB, audio interfaces. Good-quality devices like
this start just under $100 and go up - remember that these are
professional-quality units .

Most of the devices I happen to have have are by M-Audio, but there are lots
of other manufacturers, such as Edirol, Presonus, Lexicon, Emu, Tascam...

You still do need to check the manufacturer's websites for driver updates,
but all of them will tell you the Vista status of their drivers and allow
you to download them for free.

Carey, the Thinkcenter is a Tower PC. I have seen serveral people say stay
away from Soundblaster because of the poor support they have for Vista. Have
you had better luck.
