Need for Sub-Tasks in Outlook

It seems to me that the Task function of Outlook would be more useful if you
could create master tasks and sub tasks. For example, my master task might be
"Creating an direct mailing" and the subtasks would be "writing copy",
"Graphic design", "printing", etc. That would I could break up tasks that
have multiple components into pieces that I can then schedule individually
while tracking the larger task.

I recognize Microsoft Project does this, but I am not building a skyscraper
and do not need sophisticated project tracking. $599 seems overkill for what
would seem to be somne minor additional functionality for Outlook.

I strongly agree.

I also recognize that Microsoft Project does this, but while on that note,
please find a way to synchronize Microsoft Project tasks to Outlook tasks. At
present MS Project only syncs to the calander. Since project is task and
calendar oriented, it only makes sense to let the two programs "talk"
together in tasks and in the calendar functions.

That's what you can use Categories for.

Categories underpin the power of Outlook's Tasks. Make a new Category
called Create Direct Mailing and then you can have a zillion Tasks
categorised that way. Use the By Category View of the Tasks folder and add
the Category column to your TaskPad in the Calendar.
