I've got a problem I know lol.

I was just thinking about a possible BIOS update might be the fix to my
situation?
Not sure but was just looking into some specs on the mainboard and CPU-Z
reports:
Mainboard tab
Intel D975XBX
Chipset i975X
BIOS version:
BX97510J.86A.1474.2006.1220.1826

Did a google for the BIOS version 1474 and got
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/BIOS/Intel/Intel-D975XBX-BIOS-1487.shtml
which is version 1487 - 4 updates ahead of my current version I believe.

December 20, 2006 (1474.2006.1220.xxx) is the date of the current BIOS on
the Mobo.
September 02, 2007 (BX97510J.86A.1487.2007.0902.1724) is the current update
version of the BIOS.

Should I update it?

Also what is iflashwin and itoolkitw?

thanks again!

You dont actually mention the problem you have, other than stateing many
parts have been replaced by the supplier.
Generally you dont update the bios unless you know it cures a specific
problem, or gives greater functionality
Any bios update is obtained from either the sys manufacturers site or mobo
maker.
Nor do you install drivers from MS Update.
To clean install win you need an OEM version of Pro, and whether a generic
OEM version would suffice I could'nt say

Very true.
Basic problem is when I try to run World of Warcraft with addons enabled I
don't load through after selecting the character. I load through just fine
with out addons. Addons are all updated and can be run on my laptop (which is
far below the PC in terms of performance, graphics or other wise) but my
frame rate in the laptop is horrible with the addons loaded.
Thats about it. I've tested adding addons one at a time and I've found that
about 80% of the time I will get stuck loading untill the background loading
music stops or I get disconnected. If I relog or exit program and relog I
tend to load straight thru. I've also tested groups of addons and it
sometimes has the same effect.
I spent 6 hrs trying to log in with my prefered addons a few days ago, but I
did get through with about half of my addons enabled.
I've spent time on the ATI forums and on the World of Warcraft forums. WoW
forums all say uninstall/reinstall World of Warcraft (which I've done three
times, disk by disk and patch by patch) and if that isn't the answer then to
try a reformat of the OS. ATI forum has kinda boiled down the same way (minus
the WoW uninstall/reinstall).

Thanks :)

As for an OEM version of Pro...
The key labeled on the back fo the PC just states: Windows XP Professional
OEM Software
The key on my laptop reads: Windows XP Profesional DELL
So I was thinking that OEM was generic since the DELL version didn't state
OEM? I'm prolly wrong but that's what I thought.
Also if I updated the BIOS (which is why I was asking - the website stated
"Update the BIOS on your computer only if the newer BIOS version specifically
solves a problem you have. We do not recommend BIOS updates for computers
that do not need it. You can view all new BIOS fixes in the Release Notes") I
wanted to make sure that it was a viable option, since I noticed that the
default BIOS on the Mobo was a 2006 build when there were '07 ones out.
But yea def my bad for not posting the problem...

After all the hardware has been replaced, you couldn't have a hardware
problem. That leaves junk software, Uninstall it! Who needs that stuff anyway?
