i just bought a pny 2G attache thumb drive. it won't install in vista. i've
tried the drivers from the manufacturers site and tried the drivers from a
computer running xp with no luck.

If it is an S3 type thumb drive you need the drivers from the manufacturer.

I have a few Sandisk thumb drives and I am in the same situation.

You need drivers for a flash drive? You've got to be kidding!!

You're right. I meant U3. My mind was out but I was here.

No, not for the flash drive but for the U3 software that is on a
partition of the flash drive. They're selling these flash drives with
the U3 software already installed on the flash but some have failed to
provide Vista drivers for their software. I have two of them from two
different companies. One worked, the other didn't. I was advised by the
one that didn't work to uninstall the included software and all would be
fine.
I did, it is.
