Need a freeware video editor

Has anyone ever used or reviewed the freeware located at
http://www.bobyte.com/

I picked up AviTricks Classic from bobyte (the website said that it was
freeware). I loaded AviTricks Classic and tested it on a short and
small project of lifting a section of video out of a longer whole and
it worked just fine. No nags or popups with the program either.

Unfortunately, I don't work with AVI's exclusively. Is there a freeware
program that can edit, splice, cut, and otherwise "alter" a majority of
video formats?

Thanks for your help!
