Need a freeware .MP3 equalizer that will SAVE ......

...... all the changes made to any .MP3 file.

I use MP3DirectCut for trimming and to increase gain, but there
seems to be nothing available for changing frequency responses
and saving them permanently. Too many .MP3 downloads seem
very bassy and need to be tweaked.

plug in (for wave) or a lame output plug in (for MP3).

Doing that will alter the MP3 quality, often significantly.
