NCM (Namtog's Copy and Mail) is a small tool to let you simply
copy text to the clipboard and then with a double click email it to as
many, or just one, people as you like. Why open a big email client
when all you want is to send a blurb from a website or blog you visit?
Or if you want to send a email to everyone in a group but don't want
to have to use a email client to write it instead of your favorite
text editor. Have more than one group? Just set up another copy of
NCM. All you have to do is highlite the text, then right click, select
"Copy" and double click on ncm.exe. That's it! Go back to what ever you
are doing and the email will be sent. We all are used to copy and
paste, now we can copy and email.

Bit complicated, ain't it, with the Blat part of it? Not for me thanks. Not
when you can simply copy stuff right into Irfanview (ctrl/Alt/L) and mail
it from there to whoever you wish.

Hi Paul,

it from there to whoever you wish.

(ctrl/Alt/L) does nothing of the sort here. Is Irfanview supposed to
be open, or closed, when doing that ? Neither works in any case.

Care to explain the steps further ?

Regards, John.

Hi John - I am afraid I am not going to be of any help here but to answer
your question......
I must have downloaded a small program or used a program I already have
installed to do what I said. The setup instructions I remember came in this
newsgroup about 6 months to a year ago I think. The instructions went
something like this...
using whatever prog it was that I cannot remember (and I must have still for
this to work) you setup your own key combination to capture the screen and
when captured it automatically invokes your viewer (in my case Irfanview).
The result of the screen capture is automatically shown for me in Irfanview.
Then you edit the picture if you wish in your picture editor then do
whatever you like with the result. I use Irfanview to mail captured stuff
out to my contacts because you do not have to go and save the picture on the
Hard Drive first .
I am sorry I cannot remember the program, but other readers of this thread
might remember.

Greetings Paul;

NCM is a ver.0.2 release, it seems to be receiving a fair amount of
interest. It is very early.

A later version will have a GUI installer to enter your SMTP sever
login name and password to access AUTH.

If you don't want to do a default install for Blat open up subject.txt
and on separate lines add this;
-server yoursmtpserver.somewhere
-f your email address
-u your login name
-pw your password

Look at this as a undocumented feature :)

The problem is that your info is stored in a plain text file. Later
versions of NCM will add encryption to solve this.

Note: if you do install blat it uses encryption and stores your info in
the registry.

All comments about NCM are appreciated.

Okay, I can open IV and paste.

Okay, I can do that manually.

Okay, I hadn't used Irfanview to send emails before so had missed this
option. Thanks for pointing it out to me. :-)

I notice however that if I re-size an image that the original (large)
image appears to be sent. Unless I save the new one. In which case
it is barely any better/quicker than simply using my existing emailer.
Instead of IV's plug in.

OK John if you have to resize (or whatever) you still do not have to SAVE
the result before mailing. Just copy your new image, press D to delete the
old one and then paste the new one in and then email it. I wish I could
remember that program I mentioned before as it is so quick from capture to
IV to edit to send. If I think of it in the near future I will post it in
here.
