NavPane truncates folder names

The folder names in my navigation pane in Outlook 2003 have recently
become truncated. The last few characters of the folder name as well
as the right parenthesis on the count of number of items are cut off.
This only happens in the Navigation Pane for email. The folders view
is ok. When Outlook first loads the folders names are normal for about
1 second. Then they become truncated as Outlook completes its load.

I ran ScanPST and repaired errors as well as started Outlook with the
/resetnavpane switch but neither helped.

Does anyone have any other suggestions to restore my navpane?

Yes, only the Folder List Navigation has a vertical scrollbar. For the other
Navigations you'll need to adjust the width of your Navigation Pane. Don't
ask me why ;-)

issue. I can make it as wide as my entire screen and still folder

truncated. The Junk Mail folder has half of the 'i' and the 'l'

parenthesis truncated.

Does that make sense? Each folder is truncated a little bit on the
right, then the number of items is displayed but also truncated.

I assumed other people might be seeing this odd behaviour.

Looking at the top 5 lines,

* Reply has part of the y missing and part of the right bracket
* The 3rd line should be "Reply Later" but the r is missing and part
of the right bracket is missing
* The 4th line should be "Follow Up" but most of the "p" is missing.

Weird behaviour,
Any insights welcome.

already and/or change the display resolution settings?

I have the latest video BIOS from ATI and I just loaded their latest
driver. No luck. I have been having a lot of trouble with Norton
Internet Security interfering with just about everything I do. I don't
suppose that is the culprit here but I am at a loss as to what else
could be causing it.

I have isolated the source of the display problem. When I boot my Dell
Inspiron in the docking station (I do not use an external monitor) I
have the font display problem in Outlook. If I boot the machine
outside of the docking station everything displays normally, even
after adding the laptop back into the docking station.

I updated the firmware on the docking station but to no avail. At
least I have a workaround in that I can boot out of the dock.

I had this problem some time back and one of the good folks (Diane) here was
able to solve it for me. The solution is:

Right click on the desktop and choose properties. On the themes tab, save
the current theme, then select the windows xp theme. If it doesn't help, you
can go back to the theme you saved - although since it fixed it for Andy, I
expect it will fix it for you as well.
