Outlook 2003 - Vista - navigation pane fonts

Upgraded to Vista Ultimate. Using the Aero color scheme and the default font
size of 96dpi. Running the latest Vista vendor updated display and video
drivers.
When Outlook 2003 SP2 starts - in the navigation pane - the old default
Tahoma 8 font displays and then after a few seconds the font increases in
size.
The problem is that the folder names are truncated as is the the unread
email numbers. For instance:
"Junk e-mail [36]" displays as
"Junk e- [3"

By opening Tools/options/other/advanced options and just selecting Ok
without making any changes - the display resets and all the items in the
navigation pane display.
Restarting Outlook and the problem is back.

Hi,
This is a new user profile as the upgrade blew away my old domain profile.
Anyways I did create a new user and then setup Outlook for that profile. As
soon as I closed and then opened Outlook again the text is cut off.

hmm... try running the detect and repair from the add/remove features.
Also do you have any other office installed on your computer.

Also you may try outlook /resetfolders
Also outlook /cleanviews are worth a try.
These commands should be run from the RUN command box in Start menu.

Hi,
- ran detect and repair (with reset to defaults option)
(which is the same as creating a new profile)
- no other office installations only office11 - have the dst update as
office12
- ran both command line switches
No change

Please note: was running XP SP2 with Office 2003 Pro SP2 prior to the Vista
upgrade without the problem.
Also this is only in Windows Aero or Vista Basic Appearance settings.
Windows standard or classic schemes both show the text fully.

Need some way to force Outlook to save the setting for new sessions after I
fix them using the tools/options/other/advanced settings "ok" which generates
the correct view for the current session.
