Navigation Structure Disappeared.

When I go to Navigation View all it shows is the home page. It doesn't show
the "tree" like when I set up the site. All the pages are there whicj I can
see in other modes, but they don't show up in the navigation structure. Do I
have something turned off? I miss my Nav. Structure. Someone once said
something about "Author Time Components" I can't find anything about it and
have now idea what it means. Any help would be appreciated

Are your menus and stuff still present? If so, then it is a display
problem. Try looking for a little "+" sign on the home page box to see if
you can expand it. If your menus are also gone....

You probably got hit by the "destroyed navigation bug" that happens with
certain versions of FP and certain versions of the FPSE plus some editing
actions. (I never figured out what the editing actions are...)

You need to pull from backups the entire web, or just the navigation file
(/_vti_pvt/structure.cnf). (Put it back in place and log in and recalculate
hyperlinks.)

Or, it could not be the bug and someone renamed, deleted, moved or otherwise
messed with the home page. (If it was that, then you might want to restore
from the backup of the entire web as other stuff is probably messed up.)

The fastest way to recover, is to rebuild the nav structure. (It's just drag
and drop so it does not take long.) If you have forgotten or someone else
built the site, you can go to "archive.org" to look at the menus as they
were to get clues.

OR if you can find the structure.cnf file but don't remember your nav
structure, I have a document that explains how to reconstruct the nav
structure based on the contents of that file. (Valid for FP2002 and earlier,
I dont know about 2003.)

If you do conclude you got hit by the bug (nobody was messing with the home
page) then I would strongly advise you to print the navigation structure or
write it down or something. The bug will show up again if you got it once.
So you'll want a copy so you can reconstruct quickly.
