Navigation Bars - Newbie Question

Hi there..

I had working Navigation Bars until I changed the index.html to
index.shtml. Now, when I try and readd the Navigation Bar (I'm Ok with
starting over if I have to), Frontpage adds the file suffix (.html, htm,
etc) on to the file in the Navigation Bar.

Is there a way to add it and be able to delete the suffix?
