Navigation Bar & Shared Borders Problem

P

Paul

I'm using FP2K and typically make a custom theme by
editing one of the standards with my own buttons, banners,
etc.

Anyhow, been having the following two problems with each
new site I create. First, when I edit my Navigation Bar
properties (on a shared border), it makes that change to
every page. For ex, why can't I set Child Level for Home
Page and Same Level for all the remaining pages? I either
get one or the other to all pages which simply doesn't
work out.

Second, when I try applying a Shared Border to an
individual page, it grays out the "Add Nav links"
selections. I would like Horiz links on the Home Page and
vertical links for the remaining pages. It only lets me
pick Nav links if I select "Apply to all pages".

Thanks in advance!

Shared Borders are global in nature, as in that they apply to all pages
within a web, unless disable on a specific page, so any content within a
shared border will be the same on all pages using that specific border.

In order to apply shared borders, you must have a web open, in general you
always need to have a web open when working with FP.

The navigation component is based on the structure of your web in Navigation
View.

It you want complete control, don't use shared borders, instead use the FP
Include Page Component and tables to structure your page layouts.
