Navigation Bar Problem

I am having a problem getting the navigation bar set up. When I went to
INSERT - NAVIGATION... instead of the navigation bars appearing on the page,
the following appears where I want the nav bars:

[Add this page to the Navigation view to display hyperlinks here]

Any thoughts about what I am doing wrong? I am using FrontPage 2002 (OS is
Windows 2000).

Thanks,
Kay

go to view.... navigation and drag your links to screen one at a time...
when you go back your bars will be set up.

Best to you.....

Hi Tom,

Thank you for responding. The navigation view already shows, in this case,
the home page and 5 pages underneath (since posting this question I have
added 2 more pages for the link bar) but I still have the same message
instead of the link bars. In other words, the link bars did not show up after
going to the navigation view and adding the 2 pages. (I have more pages but
do not want them to appear on the link bar for all of the pages). Any other
suggestions?

Thanks,
Kay

Verify the home page you have in Nav view is the correct home page (filename) as required by your host and has the home icon in it
(plus make sure all filenames do not have spaces)

Check under the nav bar properties that the nav. bar should show -
example, if the bar is set to show child pages, no links will show
unless the page has any child pages.

In your case (Home page plus 5 pages under home) the best set up would
probably be "Child pages under home" plus tick the Home page check
box.

Thanks Ron. "Child pages under home" and "Home" checked is how all of the
pages (home plus the 5 pages) are set up. I will keep trying. Thanks for the
suggestion.

Thanks Stefan. The home page (index.html) is correct and the the filenames do
not have spaces, but they do have hyphens. I just cannot figure out why it
isn't working. Thanks again for the suggestions.

One other (possibly silly) idea:
Do you have the navigation bar in a shared border or include page, but
none of the pages using that border or include?

Can you give a link to one of your problem pages, or post the code
here?
