Navigation bar insert - Ronx help me!!

Hi Ronx,
please help me I'ìm going banans. I have a header with company name on wich
I have now incorporated into the Naviagtion bar as anothere row on top of the
navigation bar in inserted the company logo as a jpeg (comapny logo in
Lucida Calligraphy) So I have the Header and navigation bar that I
contructed using Interlacken i t looks lovely - just as I wanted - mega - but
I can't get the flipping thing to insert itself properly on one page let
alone all the pages!

I have saved it a s a normal page and tried insert page - goes perfectly
right to the top of the page but there is a great big open space below it and
the rest of the page won't move itself up wards to meet up with the
naviagtion bar.
I then tried saving it as a DWT - that is when I put the header as part of
the actual naviagtion bar table as I couldn't get the orinal table cell and
separate navigation structure which was underneath it to be combine as one
editable region. I have tried but with no success to import the Dynamic web
plate by going into tools - dynamic web plate - manage editable regions -
identifying the onlòy one I have which is the Navigation structure - and it
won't go in - can't even see it - I can see the tag somewhere off to the
right but no DWT - and the naviagtion structure should in theroy be
absolutley positioned.

Any ideas?

I really am very greatful to anyone who helps me - you have all been
brilliant over the last few months helping me with my woes. I asked Ronx
becasue he had followed me through with the initial navigation bar problems.
However I really don't mind who answers as I said you have all helped me and
if I have got this far it is only because I keep bugging you lot!

Anyway - I have go the header as I said below with included in the original

I have found the offending code but am not sure what to do with it:

Here it says height 222 - well the height should be more like 75 - can I
just change that or wil it mess up the tranparent gif that is under/over the

Sorry I forgot to ask one other thing - the rollover efects seem to have
dissappeared from the navigation menu bar - it still works but no rollover -
can I mend this?

Can you publish what you have done?

I have used a variation of this menu at www.rxs-enterprises.org, with
a mixture of DWT and include pages, a copy of the DWT is at
www.rxs-enterprises.org/dwt/site.htm , and the menu itself at
www.rxs-enterprises.org/borders/globalnav.htm

The variations I have used may confuse you slightly, but the general
principles are retained and you should be able to see how I fitted the
menu into the pages.

The gap below the menu does appear in some browsers - Netscape6,
Mozilla 1.3 are examples, but should not be there in IE6 or the latest
versions of Netscape and Firefox.
As far as rollovers are concerned - depends on how these were done.
If JavaScript, the script may have to be copied to every page - should
not be necessary when using a DWT.

1) Include pages only include the code inside of the body tags in the pages using it
- so any script or commands in the Head section or Body tag must be copied into all pages using it
Since you are using a DWT don't use include pages (apply the nav to your DWT page)
2) There is nothing in td tag w/ the webbot causing the extra space

But this tag is causing it (remove height="222">)

Hi Ronx,
I can't publish what Ive done so far until it at least looks decent. I have
over 100 pages that I need to insert this flippin navigation bar on then I
have to do the same in another 6 languages.
So this is the situation as it stands so far.
I have two headers one saved as a nortmla page - one saved as a DWT - this
has to be ibnserted on the top of all my pages.
All the other pages are finalised - a few have inline frames in them but
generally bare static.
If I trt to apply the navigation using Include content - I end up with a
rather large gap in between the navgation bar/header and the rest of the page
and the rollovers don't work
..
If I try and insert the DWT to my index page for example - basically I just
can't do it.
I have not understood this concept at all which is desperate as I only need
to insert the navigation on the pages.

Do I attach the DWT with the navigation to the top of all my pages or do I
attch all the pages to the navigation.DWT? That is porbably a really stupid
question but maybe I am just doing things the wrong way around. I have been
trying to insert a DWT page to the top of a static page - just won't work.

I have had many problems in the last few months setting up this website but
with the help from Communities have got through them - I do hope I can work
this one out too.

The navigation bar I constructed looks great and works perfectly - shame I
can't put it anywhere at the moment!

The DWT is a representation of the entire page, without the unique
content, so you attach the DWT to the page - it does not go into any
particular area. Open a page then
Format->Dynamic Web Template->Attach Dynamic Web Template
Browse to your DWT and set the <body> tag to the editable region that
will hold your content. - the dialogue is easier to do than describe.
This adds whatever you have in the DWT - Navigation, Header, Footer
etc. to your existing page.

Could you zip your DWT, menu page and oneor two other content pages
and email to me at
ronx at mvps.org
