Whenever I try to access the website, I get an error "The connection was
refused when attempting to connect to www.symantec.com" using NS 7.1. In I.E
as I type the address and enter, it takes me to a search engine (Yahoo).
When I click on the link of symantec, a page comes up "The page canot be
displayed". This has been going on for more than 1 week. However, on the
16th I noticed a virus alert on symantec (Using another computer) saying it
is caused by a version of the my doom virus.. I downloaded the virus removal
tool and scanned my PC in safe mode and normal mode. Nothing showed up (The
log read "no infections found"). When I ping the site www.symantec.com I get
the following:
Pinging www.symantec.com [127.0.0.1] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Ping ststistics for 127.0.0.1:
Packets: sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms.
Since I am unable to update my virus definitions, could anyone direct me to
some soulution?
Thanks in advance.
