Native Mode

this might be a silly question, but i need to ask if i convert my domain how
will this affect macs that are out on the network, i thought native mode
applied to just domain controllers. i am currenlty running win2000 advanced
servers

Please can someone please answer this for me!!

It won't affect them at all.

It does. Specifically NT 4.0 BDCs in the native mode domain. If you don't
have NT 4.0 BDCs on the domain and don't plan to add any later then make the
switch.

There others have already answered the Mac question.

Here is the general rule: Domain modes have practically
zero effect on clients of ANY type (including Win9x or NT).

Modes are ONLY about supporting older xDCs (e.g., NT BDCs)
and increasing the capabilities of Active Directory database
as you remove the need to support those older DCs.

One client note (not really about clients but the way AD works):

In Native mode a GC is REQUIRED to be available for
logon -- in small forests or single domains make every
DC a GC.
