DFS 2000 v 2003

Hi,

We have a windows 2000 server and a Windows 2003 with SP1 (pre RC2)

I am trying to setup a root DFS share between the two machines to replcate
the d drive as a data volume.

I keep getting an error network command not supported when trying the create
the root replica (from either machine).

Is there a compatibility issue between the two servers (the domain
controllers are running windows 2003 in native mode RC1).

Thanks,
Mike Paul

The primary difference between R2 and previous versions is,...in
fact,...DFS.
Upgrade the older versions so that everything is the same version. I'm sure
that is not the only way to deal with it, but it is the best way and it will
also prevent future problems that you might have that none of us know about
or have thought of yet.

as stated i am NOT using RC2, i am well aware DFS changed with Rel2.

My question is, will DFS work between windows 2000 server and Windows 2003
Server.

Upgrading a server and spending £800 on it might be the problem is not a
satisfactory answer.

Can you give me the definative answer please?

thanks,

mike paul

I was never aware of any issue between 2000 and 2003 (non-R2)
