It could be any number of things. One, given the type of application it is,
your firewall or router or both might be blocking it. You would need to
check the app's documentation to see if the app requires a specific port to
be opened or some other special settings in the firewall, you might check
any troubleshooting and support at their website.

Second, the installation of the app might have corrupted your network
settings in which case, you probably ought to uninstall the app using
Programs and Features in Control Panel and then do a System Restore back to
a date prior to its installation which might restore your laptop's settings.
Start Menu\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

Note, while System Restore is meant to only restore your settings and
registry back to a specific point in time, as a precaution you should always
make sure your data is well backed up.

Hi Tash,

This is a common problem when using Azareus. It can affect clients running
any operating system, not just Vista. See:
http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/NAT_problem

The easiest solution is probably to turn on UPnP support, in your Router and
on Vista. After that, everything else becomes more or less automatic. This
solution only works if your router supports UPnP. It probably does; check
the router's docs to info on how to enable it.

On the Vista side ... by default, Windows Firewall blocks UPnP traffic. To
enable it:

- go to Control Panel

- click on "Network and Sharing Centre"

- the "Network and Sharing Centre" window appears;

- if Network Discovery is turned off off, click the arrow button ? to expand
the section.

- click Turn on network discovery, and then click Apply. If you are
prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or
provide confirmation.

Your Vista laptop is now receiving UPnP traffic from the router.

See the Azareus wiki for more details. Apart from the Vista firewall aspect,
it isn't a Vista-specific problem.

Hope it helps,
