We have a small network, one server. I hooked up a new computer to the network which happened to have the same computer name as the server and has now wiped out my active directory. Here are the following errors:

"Naming information cannot be located because the target principle cannot be found"

I rebooted the server and then got"

"A duplicate name ixists on the network"

I realized what had happned so I shut down the computer (XPpro) and rebooted the server again but it's still gone.

In the event viewer, it listed references to this (sorry I didn't write down the event number)

\Device\NetBT_Tcpip - transport taken offline

DHCP/BINL service has determined it's not authorized to service clients on this network for the windows domain: ourcompany.local

DHCP now authorized

DNS Domain name could not be retrieved Error 52e

So how do I get myself out of this. I'm new to Win2k but have some admin experience with NT4. I'm hoping you can help as soon as possible so I can fix this before Monday.
