Names in Address Book and Contacts display differently

I saved a pst file when changing out a computer (Win98 to WinXP-Pro). Both
machines run Office 2000. When I configured Outlook, I used the existing pst
file. All folders, e-mails, etc. are there. However, the contacts and
address book names now display sometimes in first name, last name order,
others in last name, first name order. Even changing both the address book
and contacts so they match doesn't work - it changes one or the other back to
the original version. I've checked in options, contact options and specified
last name, fist name and still have trouble. What I don't understand is that
it's the same file running on the same version of Office, only the OS is
different. Any suggestions, ideas?
Thanks!

Insufficient information.
Provide the mail support mode of Outlook 2000 you are using.
State in detail how you migrated your Outlook data.
Explain how you configured the Outlook Address Book Display.

It's set for Internet e-mail. I literally saved the pst file and when I
installed Outlook I set the path to the existing pst file - I did not import
or export anything. The Address Book is looking for names in Contacts, it is
set to keep personal addresses in Contacts, and to check names from Contacts
when sending mail. The properties for the Outlook address book is set to
Last Name, First Name. I hope that provides the information you need.
Thanks!

Doesn't fit. Internet Mail Only provides no such option.
Clarify your mode.
