i am reading this from a book (excell formula 2003).

the name is SUM10CELLS

refers to =sum(!b1:!k1)

what does the ! stand for?

i did

refers to =sum(b1:k1) and it seems to work the same.

the book doesnt seem to explain the syntax of "refers to" box.

thanks :

The use of "!" makes the Sum formula always relative to the active
sheet.
