name of incoming email server

Todd Vradenburgh

Hi, I have a question.

I recently purchased a new computer and tried to set up my Windows Email
(with vista windows) I need the name of the incoming email server and
outgoing email server. I called my local internet service provider and they
told me to contact Microsoft. I live in Newburgh, NY. Zip code is 12550.

Who do I get this information from? Which company?

Thank you,

Todd V.

Your ISP provides email facilities and should let you know the
name of their POP and SMTP servers.

If what you say about your ISP is correct you would be wise to
sack them at the earliest available opportunity.

BTW you may find your server settings on this list...

Who is your ISP?

I second what Julian said. Fire your ISP. They are totally incompetent.

Incoming and outgoing server (POP & SMTP) details are the responsibility of
your email provider. This, of course, may be your ISP or a third party, such
as hotmail (although you can't access hotmail via windows mail), gmail,
lycos. If the email account you are trying to access belongs to your ISp
then it is 'their' responsibility to supply you with the relevant details.
If your ISP technical support staff don't know what they are then they are
nothing short of incompetent!
