Hi Alan,
What exactly is yellow, the desktop or games? To restore you previous driver
open display properties and go to the settings tab. Click the advanced
button, then the adapter tab followed by the properties button. Then select
the driver tab and click 'roll back driver' button.

Want my advice?

Microsoft doesn't do too good a job at providing drivers
for non-MS hardware...

Go to http://www.nvidia.com and download the latest
DetonatorFX UDA Driver for your nVidia card... and the
rest should be easy...

Make sure that ALLL of the previous driver files are
deleted... try getting the NFA (Nasty File remover)
program from various gamer sites, and then install the
new drivers, and you should be fine...

You may have to reset all of your settings tho...

I agree with David. I just posted on another newsgroup
regarding a guy who was having the exact same problem as
you after downloading the update from Microsoft, not that
microsoft is all bad, just that you should always try to
download directly from the source before resulting to auto
update. The specific link to download nvidia drivers are:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
Good luck.
