Mystery Folder...

At about 11:00am this morning, I have this mystery folder that keeps
re-appearing after each reboot. I can't seem to find what it has to do with,
but the name has me a little concerned.

At the root of my D: drive, a folder is re-created (no matter how many times
I nuke it) called, "internet." Within that folder, there is another folder
named, "catalog.wci." Within that folder, there are 36 files, totaling just
under 9MB, but none of them "appear" to do anything. Some of them are...

cicl0001.000
cisl0001.002
index.000
propstor.bk1

Any ideas out there?

You are running Internet information Server (IIS).

Are you running IIS? A quick Google search returns links indicating IIS
creates and maintains that folder.

That is created by installing "Microsoft Index Server".

I do not have IIS installed on this WinXPPro workstation.

I do, however, have indexing running.
