Mysterious Outgoing Email

Recently, when I went to my Sent Items folder to check an email I had sent, I saw an email listed without a Subject. I try to never send an email without a subject, so I opened it and was shocked. It was from me to (e-mail address removed). There was no subject and no message, just From and To, and I do not know anyone with that email address. I never open email from anyone I do not know. Anyway, I ran Windows Live One Care virus check, Ad-Aware, and Spybot and got no errors. My question is, how could this message occur?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can think of only three possible explanations:

1) someone, without your knowledge (or without admitting to doing it) used your PC to send e-mail to that address

2) you have been infected (well, not you personally, but rather your PC) with a trojan or some other malware. It's entirely possible that the three scanning applications you tried did not detect it.

3) you, at one time, started a new message, messed up on the address, decided to abandon it, and accidentally clicked on Send.

If the PC was infected with malware, I would think you would see way more than a single message...more likely it would be scores of messages.
