All of a sudden (yeah, really) it seems Classic Windows buttons is my only
choice for dialog boxes and other windows in Display Properties.
Using XP Pro, I've verified that 'Themes' is set on Automatic in Services.
There have been three registry fixes (restoretheme, visualstylefix and
classicdisable) installed from Kelly's Korner. Both 'Turn on Classic shell'
and 'Force classic start menu' from Group Editor Policy have been set to
*not* configured.
But the really baffling thing is that every time I place a check in the 'Use
visual styles on windows and buttons' (from System Properties/Performance
Options/Visual Effects') box, it somehow un-checks itself.
Color me clueless. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
