my xp is still messing up

hey can anyone help me
my windows xp is still not working.
this is the problem. i was with a friend and she pulled a persona
picture off the internet and it went to the wall paper and we got it t
go away then after that half of the last wallpaper was removed 1/3 o
the way and none of the icons showed up

well since then i ran it in safe mode and it worked. but then i went t
restore the computer back to a previous date that is was working and i
still didnt work. i did it several times all the way back to the day w
got the computer but it did not restore. also i defragemented it and i
still is not working


can anyone tell me what else i can do.

please help me

Rightclick the desktop, Properties, Desktop Tab, Customize button, Web Tab,
see if a checkbox is checked the set a web page for the background. (and
also unlock the desktop)
