I really don't know how to explain what is happening to my computer. I
don't know much about it, but know more than a beginner, but not enough
to fix this problem myself. I tried a few months ago to install a fresh
copy of windows xp home and i still have old files from the first
install but i don't believe there is two copys on my computer... i'd
just like to erase everything and start fresh how exactly can i do that
without any of my old files showing up. I tried to install windows and i
only have one partion and it won't let me delete it, because its on my c
drive... im guessing thats my main drive. I'm not sure what to do. Any
help would be so so so soooooooooo appreciated. Thanks

How to install or upgrade to Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316941

Read "Perform a clean install of Windows XP" from the article. Make sure the
computer is set to boot from the CD.

If the Computer is an HP, Dell, Sony or Toshiba, then read the manual on how
to perform a clean install/recovery.
