My windows XP doesn't recognize it self??!!

When I tried to down load the windows sevice pack, i got
a message telling me i needed to be running a microsoft
windows product in order to use the service. . .but. . I
AM using windows XP!! What the heck is going on?! i get
this message with other functions too. most of the
websites i try to go to don't work, pictures and images
don't show up. .buttons and links are inactive, and
sometimes the page is just completely blank. . .
(slumping my shoulders and sulking now) I don't know
what to do. . .help??

Your WinXP has not been activated (registered) with
Microsoft to get its services. Copy and paste below
website to your browser and scroll down to: "Has XP Been
Activated?"

well jake. .it didn't work
i went through the steps and i confirmed that my win xp
is activated already. .any suggestions now? (getting
desperate)
