Dell Dimension 9200:
Intel Dual Core 2 @ 2.4Ghz
2.00 GB of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS

hi i have Windows Ultimate 32bit i am having a couple of problems:

1) I have a creative soundblaster X-Fi Xtrememusic soundcard and have
installed the latest drivers on it. My problem is that whenever i reboot or
start-up the computer it works fine as long as i am constantly running a
program that uses sound such as a movie but as soon as i pause the movie the
sound stops.

2) Whenever i log off or switch files my computer freezes

3) When i reboot/start-up the computer i get this sonic solutions error
message saying the driver is causing problems towards the stability of the
computer and when i check the internet for any solutions i says it has found
none and it is really annoying because as soon as i close it, it pops up
again and i have to close it again, and again, and again etc until it stops.

4) Windows media connect isn't working with my xbox it seems the xbox cannot
detect the computer

5) Windows Media Player 11 cant play any songs ( might be caused by the lack
of sound)

i have many more problems but this is all i can think of at the moment

anyway thanks in advanced

Clean install of Vista or an upgrade? If an upgrade did you remove all the
Sonic programs before doing the upgrade? Creative drivers are still in Beta
and not ready for prime time. If an upgrade do a clean install. Check for
Vista drivers for all the hardware. You can use Windows Easy Transfer (WET)
on this installation to backup data and settings, then afterwards use WET
to bring them back in.

I am using an X-Fi and having many issues, as well. The creative drivers are
still in BETA and therefore have many unresolved problems. This should be
expected especially with Creative drivers. Some things to do might be to take
out any unused codecs and/or media players that may conflict with the driver.

i did an upgrade installation and i didnt uninstall the driver before the
install. but the thing is if im gonna reinstall vista i would rather just go
back down to windows xp and wait a while, therefore im gonna give it a bit
longer.
