My touchpad isn't working.

Whenever I try to use my touchpad, like move it from one side of the screen
to the other, it always jumps back to the same spot. This has happened before
but it always automatically fixed itself, this time it has not. I think the
alignment or something is off, maybe. I dont know much about laptops.

Help?

sounds like a hardware issue and not an o.s. problem...
you could reinstall the drivers for it, but .....
you should also have a usb mouse as part of your equipment....
